Gage, honey if you weren't so cute I would give you away!

I have to write these few little things down that Gage has done in the last few days before I forget. I want him to know that he was a pain in the neck at the age of 4!

So, my sister and I do a little preschool day for her daughter and Gage and it was her turn so I went to pick Gage up after I dropped Carter off at school. Gavin was asleep in his carseat and I was driving the truck. She kind of lives on a hill so I drove up shifted the truck into neutral, put the emergency brake on, and went in to get Gage. Amy and I got to talking and Gage decides to get in the truck so I am finishing what I'm saying to Amy and turning to walk to the truck and we hear the sound of the emergency brake popping! My heart fell to my toes as I watched my truck start rolling down the hill. I take off running as fast as I can trying to catch it thinking I can get Gage out, but Gavin was strapped in on the OTHER side of the truck. I yanked the door open and Gage looked at me with his big eyes and just kept saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" I was able to push the emergency brake back down with my hand just before the truck ran in to a few LARGE cedar trees. I have never been so mad at Gage before, but I didn't know whether to spank him or hug him! I was shaking so bad my legs were bouncing off the ground. I gave him a HUGE lecture in a rather loud voice, and he says "Mom where is the money drawer? I thought it was the money drawer!" Gage was banned from getting in the truck until I put him there that day.

Fast forward to yesterday. We went to Tales for Tots and then to the park. When it was time to come home I put Gavin in the truck and then I was telling everyone goodbye. Gage gets in the front seat and quickly locks the door. I had already put my purse in with the keys so I tell him to unlock them. He just grabs the handle and opens it, which makes the very loud alarm go off! I think o.k. fine I'll just get the keys and push the button. That would have been nice if I could find the damn things! I looked everywhere! In the meantime everyone at the park is staring at me thinking, "Lady what the heck?! Turn that thing off!" Three checks through the truck my purse, and the diaper bag later and I finally find them! Gage just looks at me and says "oops!"

I'm seriously thinking of just banning him from cars all together!

Hilarious! I let my 2 yr old stay in a running car one time at Circle K while I was renting a movie...I was literally two steps away. I ended up sitting there talking to the window for an hour as peoaple walked by laughing at my son making kissing faces on the other side! Talk about furious. Finally as a cop pulls up to help me he miraculaously pulls the handle and lets me in. I keep extras in a hide-a-key now!!!!

Oh Leslie - He SOOO reminds me of Jordan!!! Just being busy but so cute!!! We had a little blue car, and I left it running with the emergency brake on, ran in to get 1 gallon of milk!!! Came out and it was rolling into the highway with my baby (jarret) strapped in his carseat!! I totally know how you feel! They eventually do grow out of it! Jordan's still honery (sp) but he's getting way better!!! Keep on lovin' him, even though you want to strangle his neck!!!

Oh, I can't stop thinking about how scary that must have been chasing after your truck! I'm so glad no one was hurt!

And, the alarm incident wasn't as bad as you think. It may have been embarrassing for you, but no one was thinking you were crazy.;) We all understand:)

Sister, I feel your pain. Him and Jackson are two of a kind. That makes me feel better that you are going through it too. I saw Sonda last night and she took one look at Jackson and said, he is a hand full huh? So true, so true!
