Weekend In Pima...

We decided to take a trip to Pima for the last few days of the kids spring break. It was as always a lot of fun. I love that you can go down there in March and it is already shorts weather. We love to go down and just relax and play. I got to go and see my friend Ashlee's new house, and got to visit with her and her mom. I love good times with good friends. We also got to go out with our friends Danny and Mandy and their kids. George and Colleen had this little surprise for the kids when we got there. That thing can hold seven kids! So perfect for all the grandkids that they have. The kids spent a lot of time on it.

Mike and Andrew even tried it out!

Leave it to Mike to find a way to scare Gage half to death. Carter is our dare devil, as you can see from his smile, but Gage was not happy!

After a long day Grandpa was nice enough to lay down with all the kids and watch Enchanted for the 6th or 7th time. Never again will probably be too soon for him to see that movie again!

On Sunday before we came home Mike, Grandma, Grandpa and Katlyn went to see The Vietnam Memorial Wall. It was in Safford for the weekend. Katlyn was so interested, and coundn't believe all the names that were on the wall. They also had a display of dog tags that had all the names of the soldiers killed in the Iraq war. She got to meet a man from Pima that is in the Navy and is leaving for Japan soon. She thought that was pretty cool. I am so glad that she got to go and see all the sacrifices that are made for us to be able to have the freedoms that we do. I am so thankful for all the men and women that serve in our military.
The weekend was a lot of fun. Thanks George and Colleen!!!

The Spring Break Canning Crew!

Today was my canning day for the month, and since the kids are home for spring break I decided to check the canner out from the cannery and do it at home. The kids wanted to help so bad, and they did a great job until the boys decided to dump rice from one bucket to the other and spilled rice all over the floor. I had to get a few pics of it, and so I grabbed my camera with a screen that doesn't work, and just prayed that I would get a few good ones. After that I decided my canning crew should go from 4 to 2.

Katlyn did a really good job once she decided that it wasn't boring. She even said that it was the best day ever! I taught her how to run the canner, and she let the boys pull the lever that brings that cans up and down. (They do work together sometimes without getting into a brawl.) She got so good at it that she got to give Mike a demo. when he got home from work. She was pretty proud of herself.

The house was a disaster when we got done, and I was Cruella De Vil, but it always feels good to get some more food storage in the pantry. Oh ya, and I promise that Gage really does wear clothes sometimes. He just rips them off as soon as we come in the door.

Just My Luck!!!!

So, just when I finally get it together and start a blog, my camera breaks. Actually my picture taker Carter broke it. I love him to death, but I really wanted to pull his ear. (Who am I kidding of course I pulled his ear!) I left my camera out in the rain at Lake Powell in Sept. and my awesome mother-in-law gave us another one for Christmas, and you see how long that one lasted. I am going to have to guard the next one with my life!

Another day at the house of the Papas...

I am completely new to this blogging thing, and so everyone be patient with me. Misty finally convinced me that our family needed one. Now I am just waiting for Brandy to step it up!!! I am excited to be able to let our family and friends know about what's going on in our lives.

The other night Gage was helping me make noodles for the chicken noodle soup. He was on all fours rolling the rolling pin over the noodles and I told him several times that he was going to fall if he wasn't careful. Of coarse he didn't listen and a few seconds later he face planted into the noodles and flour. This is him holding the new fat lip he received from the counter.
Carter and Gage decided to start a rock band in the family room. Gage was so funny singing popcorn popping into the microphone. (I think the guitar was just an accessory), and Carter was backing him up with his keyboard.
